After losing sight of his family and boarding the wrong flight, Kevin gets introduced to Home Alone 2 filming locations in NYC via LaGuardia Airport—kicking off the rest of the movie and story. After running into Harry and Marv outside the toy store, Kevin seeks refuge at the Plaza only to be confronted about using a stolen credit card—resulting in him having to leave. As most people know, the former World Trade Center featured in the film, unlike many Home Alone New York locations is no longer there, this was filmed 9 years before the horrific events of September 11th. Central Park features 843 acres filled with classic architecture, gorgeous statuary and up to date sports, educational and performance facilities. Besides all of this there is the world famous Central Park Zoo and Wildlife Center and the Children's Zoo.

The pigeon lady intervenes, and as Kevin escapes, she tosses a bucket of birdseed onto Harry and Marv, attracting a massive flock of pigeons that incapacitate them. Kevin then sets off fireworks to signal the police, who scare off the pigeons with a blanks gunshot, and arrest Harry and Marv. On Christmas Day, Kevin gives the pigeon lady the second turtledove, cementing their friendship. I mean I can understand why the filmmakers probably did that as they wanted the Bandits to be able to snatch Kevin in a secluded location. Now with nowhere to go and the bandits hunting him, Kevin heads to his Uncle Rob’s house, more on this later.

After once again being confronted by Harry and Marv, Kevin is chased through Central Park and we’re introduced to another one of Home Alone 2’s locations—the Bethesda fountain.

The statue at Grand Army Plaza points the way across the street to the hotel. Crossing the busy intersection here, at 59th Street, is where Marv and Harry first bump into Kevin. At the airport, Kevin looks out at Long Island City's Pepsi-Cola sign and the East River skyline, and the screen flashes to and from various cityscape shots.
World Trade Center
How about the models on display going alive due to an ancient Egyptian Curse? Ben Stiller wasn’t very amused, though, when he had to deal with Attila, Octavius, Jedediah, and Rexy. One World Trade Center is the main building of today's World Trade Center complex, which was rebuilt following the 9/11 attacks. The complex is home to the 9/11 Tribute Museum, as well as hundreds of bars, restaurants and shopping venues.
Finally, Kevin escapes the house with the bandits scorched, beat up, and generally defiled and rather grumpy. However, On Kevin’s final Escape he is foiled by ironically slipping on some ice. Leaving the Toy Chest the bandits bump back into Kevin and he escapes via the Solow Building on 57th, with the help of a street trader’s questionable merchandise. After more escapades in the Plaza, resulting in his eviction and capture by the Bandits, Kevin escapes his captors and heads off into Central Park, Via the Bethesda Fountain and terrace. As he comes across Gapstow Bridge he first encounters the Pigeon Lady.
